Brodie's favourites

Brodie Chapman

Role: FulGaz ambassador and WorldTour rider
Favourite bike: Her single speed workhorse

Hailing from Queensland originally, Brodie started off riding mountain bikes and ripping skids on the local single track trails.

She made the transition to professional road racing in her early 20s after a successful domestic season. In 2017 she donned the green and gold jersey, racing for Australia in the inaugural Women’s Sun Tour which she won on the final stage in a thrilling time trial.

She now gets paid to race bikes over in Europe for a a French team FDJ Nouvelle Aquitaine Futuroscope. Here’s a little sample of some of her favourite rides on FulGaz!

Banff

I love this hilly loop around Banff as it feels like you have stepped through the closet into Narnia. The views are stunning, and it brings back some fond memories.

This ride is great for those looking to do a decent session on the ergo, it’s one of my go-to’s when my coach has given me a structure workout in TrainingPeaks.

Tokyo Olympic course/Mt Fuji Road Race

Despite it also being a good way to get excited for Tokyo, it also brings good memories for me when I was bike touring around that very area.

I am hoping to get selected to represent Australia for the re-scheduled 2021 Olympics.

2020 World Championship course

I was pretty bummed when they had to move the world championship course from Switzerland as I had been riding it for month in preparation for the race, on FulGaz.

I like this because it is a hard, consistent climb and the views distract from the pain a little! It’s great for a 20mins test of my legs because the descent also feels super rewarding. This would have been the decisive loop in the world Road Race. Yes, the climb is steep!

Mt Nebo

This ride is on the list as growing up I lived nearby and rode this every single day. It’s great for when I am feeling a bit homesick as it’s always a nice one to ride as it feels so familiar.

I love that it’s not a solid climb but a seires of short ramps with a short recovery between each
